Day 6 – 9 March 2015
Left our camp this morning and took a walk up to the lookout that takes in the old Glen Davis shale oil extraction plant. From here we decided to take one more look at the main street of Glen Davis before we worked our way, ever so slowly, up the ranges to Mt Wilson via Lithgow and Mt Wilson.
On one of our steep climbs we passed another Mitsubishi Canter FG broken down in a really bad spot The bus was painted “Australia – Off the Beaten Track”. We didn’t know whether to stop and offer help? Really feel terrible for that driver.
Steve wanted to visit Hartley so we detoured at towards Katoomba at Lithgow. After a few photos we were back on track for Mt Wilson where we stayed the night. At 1008m above sea level, it was certainly cooler.
Day 7 – 10 March 2015
Day 10 – 13 March 2015
There was nothing black about our Black Friday, in fact is was an absolute blast. Today we joined Kosta, Chris and family.
The evening got busy with the family spoiling us with the most amazing pizza creations we both have ever tasted. We started off with preparing the oven and building up the flame so it would soon turn to hot coals.
Then the pizza production line began.
Chris headed up the pizza preparation with the stretching of the base and then added the toppings. Next Kosta, took over placing the pizza into the oven. Interesting note we now worked out how Kosta keeps his hands and arms so smooth and hair free. A real man doesn’t need gloves when doing man jobs around hot coals! LOL Soon the cold night air filled with a wonderful haze of pizza smells, mixed with a little singed hair. Music and fun continued into the night.
Eleven pizzas later the crowd called for dessert pizza and soon the Nutella, peanut butter and fresh fruit was decided on. Oh yum!
Steve & I always feel totally spoilt when we visit and we love very much Kosta and Chris and their wonderful family. They always make us feel most welcome.
Thank you family.
Day 11 – 14 March 2015
Woke up this morning and was spoilt again with an amazing breakfast. Chris really knows how to cook up a great breakfast with French Toast, bacon, maple syrup and other tasty dishes. WOW!
About 10 am we said our goodbyes as we headed onto Yowie Bay to visit our friend Rob and Chicka. Rob and Chicka own a green Amesz named Hugo, that we refer to as our Amesz’s little brother. Hugo is a little shorter than ours and not quite as tall, but they did a great job of designing a custom layout in side which I just love.
Today Hugo was looking a little sad as his bulbar was off at the powder coaters.
Rest of day spent catching up.
Day 12 – 15 March 2015
