Murrumbidgee River

Day 17 – 20 March 2015

Today we headed off to Narrandera and decided to spoil ourselves with coffee at the local bakery. There is something so nice about the smell of fresh cooked bread. After topping up supplies at Coles we headed further west along the Murrumbidgee River.

Murrumbidgee River Twilight

About 4pm we pulled up 4 mtrs from the edge of the river with beautiful views along the river. As we washed the dust from our throats, the sun set behind us leaving a soft beautiful scene of gums, river and quiet.

Day 18 – 21 March 2015

Rest day on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River. The evening we spend watching the sun set and the birds. Alison tried her hand at star photography capturing the Milky Way over the Murrumbidgee River.

Day 19 – 22 March 2015

Decided to do some local exploring today, so we headed off to Yanga Woolshed and then into Balranald. It was a fun day and we met a lovely couple from the US (Gary and Cheryl Howell) who were here on a 1 month trip to see this corner of Australia.

Matt-Michelle-Chloe

Also whilst we were visiting the Balranald Visitors Centre, which is a lovely place with its interactive displays and helpful staff, we met Matt, Michelle and Chloe from Mudgee. They are a couple of months into their explore Australia trip and were a delight to meet. We hope to bump into them again on the trip as we both make our way through Mungo and the Flinders Ranges.

Rest of the day was spent back on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River relaxing.
