Well, the sign said that the Plenty Highway is open to High Clearance 4WD, so it’s time to time to leave Georgina River and head to the Marshall River. The last time we tackled Plenty Highway it was horrible and that was only 6 months ago, so our expectations were low on this attempt.
At our first stop for the day, we met a group of fellow travellers with a troopy painted up with www.worthseeing.com.au, a really good setup.
The next stop was for the customary photo at the NT border.
The Donoghue Highway condition could only be described as excellent. Even more surprising was the Plenty Highway was in much better condition than Oct. We were able to make good time and we stopped at a windmill and our favourite termite mound.
We also found a curious-looking mouse which turned out to be a Fat-Tailed Dunnart.
While some were showering at the Jervis station, we caught up with Brian and Anne in OKA-371. What an awesome setup.
Great evening had chatting around the fire.
