The Red Cliffs of the Pilbara
8 September 2016 – 11 September 2016
Must admit it was nice putting the crowds of the Karratha behind us as we headed off into the east. Bush camping with no one for kilometres is quiet and resting. It is amazing how much you hear the iron ore trains as their thunder their way back and forth from the mines. Their sounds can be heard for many kilometres and further if the wind is blowing in the right direction.
After a good night’s sleep it was off to Millstream Homestead to see the catfish and more wildflowers. It is amazing the quantity of Tall Mulla Mulla and Sturt’s Desert Pea we encounter.
After a long days driving it was time to find a little camp on the side of the Kumina Creek. It was so nice here we decided to stay a couple of days.
Breaking camp today is was off to Pannawonica for a shower, some washing and to buy some more supplies before we meet up with friends at Bullara Station.
