North Queensland Trip Day 2

3 August 2013

Kinkuna to Bundaberg and Bustard Beach.

Steve was up with the sunrise this morning and was rewarded with some wonderful photos.

After breakfast it was off to the Bundaberg Rum Factory.

Bundy Rum Factory

It has been 6 years since we had last visited the  factory, and stood in front of the big bundy rum bottle. Of course the bottle has changed over the years and so have we.

The Bundy bear now has his own wall at the factory.

From here we headed off to the local Coles Supermarket, and to top up the fuel in the Amesz. When we were packing the fridge we found that it was not working well.  The freezer was still to warm, so we removed the centre freezer divider to assist in getting the bottom of fridge cooler.

Next stop was an hour north at Agnes Waters where we stopped for coffee. From here we headed into Eurimbula Creek Campground and Bustard Beach. Somewhere along the track in we must have clipped a tree (the track was very closed in) and knocked off  the Fiamma awning end cap.

A walk along the beach was relaxing, and to our surprise we were passed by a pink amphibious vehicle. It might have been slow, but wow could it climb the banks out of the creek. Very cool.
