Spoilt in Bangkok

After a quick pit stop at a shiny new 7-11 on our way to Bangkok, we braved the infamous peak hour traffic and finally arrived at our home away from home, the Eastin Grand Sathorn Bangkok, at 10:30 am. What a relief!
A huge thank you to Budget Rent a Car for picking up our trusty Fortuna on time. We returned her in a bit of a rough state – dirty, dusty, but still running like a dream! You guys are the best, and we’re thrilled to be back for our 7th year of using your services. Thanks for another year of smooth car rentals!”

We’re back at our beloved Eastin Grand Sathorn Bangkok, and we’re feeling like we’re home sweet home! For the 7 amazing nights we stayed here, we were treated like royalty (or at least, like family) by the most incredible team.
Our room was absolute perfection – stunning views, comfy beds, and all the amenities we needed to relax in style. And let’s talk about the nighttime views… wow, just wow! We were mesmerised by the twinkling lights of Bangkok, and we couldn’t get enough of the city’s energy.
But it’s not just about the room (okay, it’s a big part of it). The real magic happens when you step out into the public areas and meet the team! We’re talking about the friendly faces, the warm smiles, and the exceptional service that makes you feel like you’re the only guest in the hotel.
We’re spoiled by the delicious breakfasts, with every dish imaginable (and some we never thought we’d try). And the evening treats? Absolutely divine! We’re talking drinks, nibbles, and more – it’s the perfect way to unwind after a long day of exploring.
Now, about the team… we’re not just talking about good service; we’re talking about friends. Big hugs and thanks to Jhajah, Shin, Claire, Kukkai, Cindear, Nina, Lak, Roong, Aof, Art, Mind, Mod, Feifei, Mint, Eve, Pang, and the one and only Wawa (with the Aussie Ascent – you rock!). And of course, Fluke, Praew, Boss, Luke, Bass, Ren, and O-Ple – you guys are the best!
You all make coming back to this hotel feel like coming home. We’re so grateful for the love, care, and attention you bring to every guest. You’re not just hotel staff; you’re ambassadors of warmth and hospitality.

Getting About Bangkok 20 January to 27 January 2025

This week was a bit different – no blog posts individual for individual days, as we were too busy soaking up the sights and sounds of Bangkok! But here are a few highlights: we spent our days strolling through the city, indulging in delicious food, browsing shops, and being thoroughly spoiled. And the highlight of our stay?

Spending quality time with our friends at the Eastin Grand Hotel, who made us feel like family. It was a week of relaxation, enjoyment, and making memories.

We got a jumpstart on the Lunar New Year fun in Bangkok, experiencing the festive atmosphere before the official date! Iconsiam and Chinatown were already buzzing with energy, decked out in dazzling decorations and vibrant lights. We joined the pre-celebration party, indulging in delicious eats (dumplings galore!) and soaking up the lively vibes. And, let’s be real, we even tried to get in on the lion dance action – with varying degrees of success (who knew those moves were harder than they look?). All in all, it was a fantastic preview of the Lunar New Year celebrations, and we were thrilled to be a part of it!

After an unforgettable 7-day escapade, it was time to bid adieu to Bangkok and embark on the next thrilling chapter of our adventure – Chiang Mai, here we come! As we packed up our bags and memories, we couldn’t help but feel grateful for the incredible time we’d had in this vibrant city. A huge thank you to Bangkok and our dear friends at Eastin Grand for making our stay truly special – we’ll carry the memories of our time with you for a long time!
