Expedition Vehicle Birthday

Now that we have a large garage, it’s time to give our expedition vehicle a birthday! This includes fixing little issues and performing periodic maintenance.

The Must-Do Completed

  • Clean out gas compartment
  • Check wheel nuts
  • Bleed brakes
  • Replace Maxtrax on roof rack
  • Clean front cabin
  • Replace antenna rubber mount
  • Install USB port on kitchen table
  • Mount fire extinguisher
  • Secure clothes cupboard door
  • Attach front and back panels under fridge
  • Install inverter remote box
  • Fill hole in floor from air pipe
  • Replace joiner plug on 3-plug charger in front cabin
  • Reroute DC/DC charger control wire
  • Secure and check four camera system plugs
  • Add voltage regulators to camera display
  • Clean, disinfect, and exchange air conditioner filter
  • Clean cabin filter
  • Replace headlight LEDs
  • Repair passenger side grill clip damaged by Connie Sue
  • Rejuvenate grill clips
  • Repair and reinforce damaged points on 4WD control cables, free frozen cable at rust point, and add grease to possible water ingress point
  • Modify front crossmember to remove pressure from 4WD control cables
  • Refit left and right bullbar indicator LEDs
  • Relocate 3G/4G antenna to roof rack using custom-made bracket
  • Replace water separator on fuel line
  • Repair A/C condenser shroud
  • Remove and replace Hella horns
  • Add permanent battery charger to starter batteries
  • Repair both safes
  • Secure major wiring loom behind fridge
  • Install new fuse box in fridge area
  • Rejuvenate fridge mounts
  • Replace fridge seal
  • Move fridge warning light to console
  • Add lip to fridge freezer to prevent movement
  • Rewire pantry light
  • Relocate inverter control switch to back bed

  • Fix pop rivets on driver’s side diesel heater box
  • Replace two twelve plugs in diesel heater box
  • Service Stratos seats
  • Install USB port above table
  • Replace missing clip on Steve’s step
  • Replace kitchen table
  • Trim edge pop rivet under table
  • Secure Anderson plug
  • Glue 2 cable entrance points
  • Organize console
  • Secure cables above battery
