Caranbirini Conservation Reserve

Photographs from Caranbirini Conservation Reserve 2021

With our new drifting lifestyle we decided to spend a few days taking the delights of Caranbirini Conservation Reserve. We also wanted to walk all 3 trails to see everything. Due to the heat we decided to pace our fun over a few days. The reserve is located 45 kilometres from Borroloola on the western end of the the Bukalara Ranges. Walk 1 took us 300m to a bird hide that over looked a semi-permanent Caranbirini Waterhole. Walk 2 is the Barrawulla Loop Walk a 2km loop that explores the Lost City, where impressive rock formation rise to 25m in height and provide shade for wildlife. Walk 3 is the Jagududgu Loop Walk takes you to all of the reserve’s habitats, and includes views that extend beyond its boundaries. It is advised as 5km – but is considerably longer. So be a little more careful on this one.

Here we present some lovely images we took over our time at Caranbirini.
